Hands-On Cryopreservation Training

Learn Best Practices and Improve Your Process

Evia Bio is now offering hands-on training on cryopreservation best practices. These training workshops are designed for both individuals who have little experience with cryopreservation, as well as those who are familiar with preservation but want to improve their process and practices. In this three-day training, we will cover the entire cryopreservation process, including:

N Cell Enumeration
N Cryoprotectant Formulation
N Cryoprotectant Introduction
N Controlled Rate Freezing Protocols

N Cryogenic storage
N Thawing
N Post-thaw assessment
N Temperature mapping and process assessment

Who should attend this training?

Anyone who routinely preserves cells as part of their workflow, including employees of:

  • Cell therapy companies
  • Academic cell therapy labs

Anyone who designs, executes, or oversees cryopreservation protocols can benefit from this training, including:

  • Technicians
  • Managers (especially those who supervise technicians)
  • Quality control personnel
  • Directors of CMC
  • Directors of Manufacturing
  • Product Development
  • R&D
The course will have built-in time for trainees to ask questions regarding the course content as well as their own cryopreservation processes.

Preservation of Cells: A Practical Manual by Allison HubelAll trainees will receive a copy of Dr. Allison Hubel’s book:
Preservation of Cells: A Practical Manual

Evia Bio Training

We are offering two versions of training workshops:

Reattachment and Expansion

Cryopreservation of Suspension Cells

Cell Viability and Recovery

Cryopreservation of Anchorage-Dependent Cells

Both versions of the training will cover the same topics, but the anchorage-dependent training will include additional content, including methods of cell release for harvest and attachment-based post-thaw assessment.

FAQ

What is the difference between anchorage-dependent and suspension cells when freezing?
The Cryopreservation of Anchorage Dependent Cells training will include additional content pertaining to anchorage-dependent cells, including methods of cell release for harvest and attachment-based post-thaw assessment.
Will we get training on using a Mr. Frosty or other passive freezing devices?
The training focuses on controlled rate freezing, which aligns with best practices for clinical cell therapy products. Many of the skills and best practices presented will be applicable to passive freezing devices. During the training we will discuss the relative advantages and disadvantages of both approaches.
Can we bring home Evia Bio protocols and products for use?
We encourage you to use the knowledge you’ve gained to implement best practices in your own work. If you are interested in Evia Bio products, please contact us at info@eviabio.com.
Will meals be covered or provided by Evia Bio?
Evia Bio will provide lunch on Day 2 of training. All other meals will fall outside of the training schedule, and will not be provided by Evia Bio.
